             🌶️ THE 34TH ANNUAL RICK-O-SALSOFF IS BACK! 🏆

Saturday, September 5, 2026 | The Old Man Guest Tasting & Voting Begins at 12 PM

If you've never experienced the Rick-O-SalsOff before, this isn't just another salsa competition. This thing has HISTORY.

More than three decades ago, the Salsoff started as a friendly salsa competition between coworkers at Ball Aerospace, now BAE Systems. What started as a workplace competition turned into a tradition that has lasted more than 30 years.

In 2024, the Rick-O-SalsOff found its new home at The Old Man, and this year we're celebrating the 34th annual Salsoff and our 3rd year carrying on the tradition!

The competition is simple:

🌶️ Contestants bring their best homemade salsa. 🥄 Guests taste the entries. 🗳️ Guests vote for their favorites. 🏆 We crown our 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.

And this year, being named champion comes with something pretty freaking awesome...

🏆 INTRODUCING THE RICK-O-SALSOFF CHAMPIONSHIP BELTS

Before you ask: NO, THESE ARE NOT AI. 😂 THESE ARE THE ACTUAL BELTS!

These incredible championship belts were designed especially for the Rick-O-SalsOff by one of the engineers from the company where this whole tradition began. They were created with an incredible amount of time, talent and love — and we are OBSESSED with how they turned out.

And because one championship belt wasn't enough, we made TWO.

🏆 THE HOUSE BELT One belt will live permanently at The Old Man. Every year, the champion's name and year will be stamped in gold into the leather strap, creating a permanent history of Rick-O-SalsOff Champions.

🏆 THE CHAMPION'S BELT The second belt goes home with the winner for the year.

But there's a catch...

If you win it, you have to bring it back next year and put your title on the line.

Come back. Enter again. Defend your title.

Win again? Take that baby right back home.

Get dethroned? It's time to hand it over to the new champ. 😏

We want you in the competition!

You don't have to be a professional chef. You don't need a fancy setup. You just need a salsa you're proud enough to put in front of a crowd.

Contestants need to:

Sign up in advance

Arrive at The Old Man by 11 AM on Saturday, September 5

Bring at least 1 quart of your salsa

Provide an ingredient list so we can identify potential allergens

One salsa entry per person

That's it. Seriously.

Don't bring tables, tasting cups, serving supplies, utensils or anything else. Just bring your salsa — we'll take care of the rest!

We'll get everyone checked in and set up before guest tasting and voting begins at 12 PM.
